Hello Mini Lightning Players!
Welcome to Slave Lake Minor Hockey! We hope you're excited to start your Minor Hockey career!
Firstly, this program, and all of our programs are run by volunteers; parents that want to make the best of their kids' extra carricular activities! We need all the helpers we can get and we would love it if you'd like to step up and help, even in the smallest way; many hands make light work! If you'd like to be a part of the 'team' let your Division Coordinator know and they'll get you started.
If you haven't registered yet, it's an easy process!
1. One parent/guardian must complete the online Respect In Sport Parent program. Once the program is completed it will create a Hockey Canada file for your player(s) and then they will be able to be registered. If you have more than 1 child but suspect your other child(ren) may want to play in the future, you can add their names too so it creates files for them and then you don't have to try to remember log in and usernames in the future.
2. Print off and fill out a registration form. Once it's filled out you can drop it off at the MRC in the Thunder drop box along with a copy of the player(s) birth certificate and Alberta Health Care card. Cheques/money orders can be made out to SLMHA. All fees must be paid in full before your player(s) can get on ice.
That's it! Now you can hit the ice!
The Mini Lightning program is going to run Saturday mornings for 45 minutes starting in October. Once the players' ability grows the practice time MAY be increased to a one hour slot.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Melissa Baxter, Mini Lightning Coordinator via email.
